Spring Open Division- Week 3

May 1, 2018

Zero Pucks Given   13   Conway Land Title   0

ZPG ignited with a win entailing the first shutout of the spring season, as well as for Mike Thompson in net. In a true team effort, points were included from the entire roster; that is, Brendan Moreau (7 goals 2 assists), Greg Crissman (2 goals 1 assist), Mentor Cardinals Hockey player Tristan Bly (2 goals 1 assist) and his Dad Counselor Brian Bly (1 assist), Justin Szucs (2 assists) and Erik Schmidt (1 assist).

Westcor  6 Misfits  5

Westcor’s luck held out to defeat the Wiess/Sadler clans for their second straight cliff hanger 6-5 win in 2 weeks. Dom Anselmo played out to lead the Red Horde with a hat trick and 2 assists. Brian Przybyszewski added 2 goals and 3 assists and John Kuzniar 1 goal and 1 assist. Brian Dudziak opened the proceedings for the Misfits with 1 of his 2 goals, followed by Shawn Sadler with 2 goals and 1 assist, and 1 goal from Jason Wiess. Son Matt Wiess (aka the kid) was solid in net, while sister Emily added an assist along with Shawn’s son Garret. The result leaves Westcor on top of the league, alone and in first place, despite their narrow goal differential.

Painesville Furniture & Carpet  6   Avery International    2

PFC rocked an undefeated Avery squad with Mike Ingenthron netting a hat trick for PFC. The recipe for success included 2 more goals by Derek Pixley and another by Scott Jackson. The icing was in assists and defense by Craig Jackson (3) and Tony Parenti (2), while the cherry on top a win in goal to a stubborn Dom Anselmo. Sebastian Diaz, Jeff Burhenne and Mike Penny added a point each in the Avery resistance, ending in Avery tumbling to their first loss.

Boilermakers   12  Deck Rescue   0

The Boilers and their keeper Rob Kish (Lake Catholic) were nothing short of spectacular in the evening’s second shutout. Matt Kish, Brodie Trem and Zach Grandstaff led the assault with a hat trick each. While Dek Rescue never gave up—they could not find the back of the net, despite some wiley saves by their goalie Justin Ropos. Late arrival Seanna Conway added a Boiler goal with D and hustle from teammates Rick Kish, A.J. Bailey and Nick Muldron--- in support for a 3 period long run and gun in the making. Tidy win and shutout for the Boilers and Rob Kish.
